Major Hotel Project Completed

03 December 2015

martin & hamilton has completed an £8.5m extension to Galgorm Resort & Spa. The 18 month project involved the construction of a four storey extension to the hotel consisting of 45 deluxe guest rooms, three luxurious suites along with a new indoor swimming pool, associated spa facilities and outdoor thermal spa village – the first of its kind anywhere in Ireland. The project, both technically and logistically challenging, was completed on time, within budget and with zero defects.

On handover David Hamilton, Managing Director at martin & hamilton commented,

Overall, we are delighted with the end result. The architect, project management consultant, design consultants, key supply chain members as well as our own staff all contributed to creating a team atmosphere which helped ensure the project was a success. The attention to detail shown by the craftsmen that worked on the project is clear for all to see. We would like to thank our client Galgorm Resort & Spa, and wish them well for the future.”

Terence Brannigan, Chair of Tourism NI, said the expansion will enhance Northern Ireland’s reputation as a must-visit destination. Commenting on the opening of the new extension he said,

This project was undertaken to create a world-class addition to the already outstanding guest facilities here. This latest chapter in the Galgorm story is a testament to the drive and vision of the team not just at Galgorm Resort & Spa, but also to martin & hamilton, the 100-strong construction team, and architects Douglas Wallace who all worked together to bring the development to life."
