Job Description: Administrator

Reports to: Commercial Director

Martin and Hamilton Ltd is a multi award-winning building contractor based in Ballymena. For over 50 years m&h have been building across County Antrim for clients in the commercial, education, healthcare & community sectors. We currently have a vacancy for an Administrator within our team. The ideal candidate will have excellent organisational skills, written and oral communication skills and the ability to work effectively across multiple tasks.

Role:

You will support the Estimating and Surveying department, with key administrative tasks (e.g. updating databases, email & phone communications, scanning, word processing, calculations, sending and receiving supply chain enquiries,) to support the efficient running of the organisation. You will enjoy working with the team to ensure deadlines are met and documentation is accurately completed and filed.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Liaise with Estimating and Surveying team on a daily basis, providing general administrative support
  • Logging new projects onto the system and downloading and saving tender information into the project file
  • Administration, compilation and sending of supplier enquiries
  • Maintain accurate supplier databases
  • Telephone & Email support for suppliers regarding enquiries and ensuring quotations are returned within the tender deadline
  • Assisting with the timely distribution of updates to tender information
  • Creating the relevant tender information for the estimators
  • Assisting with calculation checks and the tender completion process

Qualifications

5  GCSEs at Grade C or above (including Maths and English) or equivalent

 

Skills

Minimum 1 years’ experience in an administrative role

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel

Excellent numeracy skills & attention to detail

Ability to work under pressure, and prioritise workload

Able to take instructions and work as part of a team

Excellent communication skills, and good telephone manner

Problem solving skills and good organisational skills

Experience in Construction Industry or similar sector

Experience in Estimating Department

Experience in Microsoft 365

Experience in working a fast-paced office environment

Hours: Monday - Friday 9.00am - 5.00pm

Salary commensurate with experience.
