Setting a President in Restoration

Works have completed on Andrew Jackson Cottage in Carrickfergus, the ancestral home of the 7th President of the United States. His family emigrated from Boneybefore, Carrickfergus around 1765. The thatched vernacular dwelling now houses a museum with visitor information exhibits run by Mid & East Antrim Borough Council. Works to restore & preserve the structure included installation of underfloor heating within limecrete floor, internal lime plasterwork, repairs to timber roof structure & thatching, external paving, French drain & limewashing to exterior & boundary wall.
